Coconut Oil
Coconut oil, or Cocos Nucifera is a natural oil extracted from the meat of mature coconuts.
Coconut oil is an emollient composed of mostly saturated fats that provide a lipid-rich barrier over the skin. The most abundant fatty acid is the medium chain fatty acid, lauric acid. Research has shown that it may help reduce the colonization of staph aureus and may be soothing for red, irritated skin.
