Abby Rose dermatology advisor, Peter Lio, MD, Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology and Pediatrics at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. Dr. Lio received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School. He is the founding director of the Chicago Integrative Eczema Center, founding partner of Medical Dermatology Associates of Chicago, board member and Scientific & Medical Advisory Council member for the National Eczema Association, and has spoken nationally and internationally about atopic dermatitis, as well as alternative medicine.
Abby Rose Founder and CEO, Heather Clark, had the pleasure of meeting with Dr. Lio in March 2019. At their meeting, Heather presented Dr. Lio with the Soothe-X™ Face & Body Balm and asked him what he was looking for in a product. In Dr. Lio’s continued efforts to find new options for his patients, his research led him to an herb called Cardiospermum. He suggested this may be a great addition to the Soothe-X formulation due to its tremendous skin benefits. Without hesitation, Heather set out to find a reputable source. As it turns out, Cardiospermum is mostly native to the tropics and very difficult to find. In order to control the conditions the plants are grown in and ensure the responsible and environmentally friendly approach to farming, Abby Rose made the decision to carefully grow it by hand to guarantee its premium, organic quality. This is the same high standard and level of attention Abby Rose places on all of their ingredients.
